SICILY. Leontini. Circa 450-440 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.00 g, 10 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΛE-O-NT-IN-O-Σ (sic!) Head of a lion with open jaws to right; around, four barley grains. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 36 (same obverse die). HGC 2, 667 var. (reverse legend). Rizzo pl. XXII, 26 (same dies). SNG ANS 231 (same dies). Slightly rough and with minor marks, otherwise, about very fine.
